Identity Theft Brochure—Identity theft, one of the fastest growing crimes in the United States, occurs when one person’s identification (which can include name, Social Security number or any account number) is used by another person for unlawful activities. The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston has a new booklet available to help consumers understand what identity theft is, how to protect themselves and what to do if their identity is stolen. InSight—ACCION International, a nonprofit organization that fights poverty through microlending, has a new series of publications available at www.accion.org/pubs.
