The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is one of
12 regional Reserve banks, which, together with the Board of
Governors,
make up the nation’s central bank. The Fed carries out
U.S. monetary policy, regulates certain depository institutions,
provides
wholesale-priced services to banks and acts as fiscal agent for
the U.S. Treasury. The St. Louis Fed serves the Eighth Federal
Reserve District, which includes all of Arkansas, eastern Missouri,
southern Indiana, southern Illinois, western Kentucky, western
Tennessee and northern Mississippi. Branch offices are located
in Little Rock, Louisville and Memphis. |
